April 11, 2012 – While the United States Supreme Court considers the fate of Health Care Reform, a new disclosure requirement is looming on the horizon. For most Group Health Plans, the new Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) will become a reality within the next six months. The new SBC introduces a new set of documentation and distribution requirements that impact what, when and how employers communicate benefits information to their employees. This edition of The Reformant highlights SBCs and provides information about what you can do, today, to start getting ready for implementation. It also provides information about how we at Vantagen are adapting our operations to support key components of SBC compliance.
August 22, 2011 – The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced changes to the disclosure requirements associated with the Medicare Part D Creditable Coverage Notice.
December 29, 2010 – Two new sets of information were released last week that helped clarify two particular sources of confusion for employers and administrators: Health Care FSA and HRA debit card use in light of the new OTC medicines/drugs regulations effective in January 2011, and whether or not the increased commuter/transit benefit amount enacted by ARRA would be extend into 2011.
